We are a small independent bookshop in the historic town of Wallingford in Oxfordshire. First opened by Mary Ingrams in 1983 and now owned by Helen Longworth, the shop is an integral part of the the Wallingford community.

We have over 6,000 books in stock at any one time, but if we don't have what you're looking for we can order it for you. The only thing we love more than helping you to find your perfect book is a challenge. So whether you've forgotten the name of a book, an author or both come and test us - we'll do our darnedest to find the book for you!

Our team of booksellers can help with all your booky needs. Whether you need a subscription for the bibliophile in your life, want to read the 'next big thing', or need the perfect present for a friend or loved one, we will be delighted to help you. We love a challenge, so if you can only remember that the cover is red...or the book is set in Italy...or the main character is an angry unicorn...come and talk to us and we'll try to figure it out!

 

We also love working with local schools. We run book fairs, curate libraries and can also suggest and / or supply prize-giving books and book tokens. We liaise with publishers and distributors to source books at a price that will stretch your budgets as far as possible.
